<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new melanogenesis inhibitor or skin-brightening agent having a skin-brightening effect as a result of penetrating the stratum corneum of human skin and reaching melanocytes, using a safe, inexpensive and highly effective compound not only producible by chemical synthesis process but also extractable from edible plant or the like. <P>SOLUTION: The melanogenesis inhibitor or skin-brightening agent is such that N-caffeoyltryptamine and/or N-feruloyltryptamine represented by formula (1) (wherein, R is H or CH<SB>3</SB>) is(are) used as active ingredient(s). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
