<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of storing images captured by an onboard camera and identifying a metal object included in the image. <P>SOLUTION: The object recognizing device 10 generates a long shot image from the stored image from the onboard camera and identifies a metal object present on a road surface utilizing a luminance difference generated in the long shot image. To put it concretely, the object recognizing device 10 has a condition setting part 121 for setting the condition of digital image processing, an image generation part 122 for converting the image from the onboard camera to the long shot image, an object recognizing part 123 for detecting the metal object included in the long shot image, and a position information generation part 124 for specifying the relative position of a present vehicle from the metal object. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
