<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which estimates a distance, wherein the accuracy of a reflectance estimated value of a subject is improved. <P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: an illumination unit which illuminates the subject with an illumination light; an imaging unit which captures a plurality of images, each under different condition of the illumination unit; an illumination light element obtaining unit which obtains an image, formed only with an element of the illumination light from the plurality of images; a reflectance estimation unit which eliminates illumination variations from one of the plurality of images or from the image formed with the illumination light element, and estimates the reflectance of the subject corresponding to each pixel; and a distance information estimation unit which estimates a distance to the subject corresponding to each pixel, based on the image formed with the illumination light element and the reflectance of the subject. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
