PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connection component which reads and writes information without a bulky form.

SOLUTION: The optical connection component is an optical connector 1 used for connecting optical fibers, in which an IC chip module 21 is partially embedded and at least part of the surface part 21b of the IC chip module which is accessible to an antenna 21a constituting the IC chip module 21 is exposed.
