摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine and a control method of the engine capable of preventing surging of a compressor of a supercharger which easily occurs when a vehicle is in a traveling state, especially in a deceleration state, and capable of effectively using energy obtained by work of the compressor. <P>SOLUTION: The engine 10 with the supercharger 13 is provided with a surging determination means for determining whether an operation state of the engine 10 enters a surging region where there is possibility that the compressor 13b of the supercharger 13 generates surging or not, a pressure reducing tank 30 for releasing a part of intake air supercharged in an intake passage 11, and a pressure reducing passage 31 connecting the pressure reducing tank 30 and the intake passage 11.
