<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal and a character input method thereof enabling characters to be inputted quickly and comfortably. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mobile terminal is provided with: keys (dial keys 131) to which a plurality of characters are selectively allocated; a trigger for detecting an operation for selecting the other different character after a key is operated and outputting a detection signal (an interrupt signal SCVT); and a conversion section 172 for receiving the detection signal outputted by the trigger and converting an undesired character other than desired characters inputted by the key operation into a desired character.
