PURPOSE: A system for correcting an ethanol ratio leaning error and a method thereof are provided to have the normal engine control by changing the content to a substitution value if it is determined incorrect leaning. CONSTITUTION: A system for correcting an ethanol ratio leaning error comprises a fuel quantity detector(101), an oxygen sensor(103), an injector(109), a controller(105) and a display unit(107). The fuel quantity detector detects the fuel tank level variation. The oxygen sensor detects the lean/richness of the air-fuel ratio. The injector jets the fuel. The controller applies the substitution value and is determined the content leaning as an error. The display unit indicates a leaning error message of the fuel component.
