To augment subtle indications of the line on which an incoming call is bei ng received on a telephone terminal device capable of communication on a plurality of lines, an incoming call screen can be made more obviously line-specific b y selecting an appropriate background color, pattern, image or combination thereof. An active call screen can also be made more obviously line-specific by selecting an appropriate background.
