<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive method of manufacturing oxidation catalyst devices for purification of exhaust gas which enable oxidation purification of particulates in the exhaust gas of internal engines at lower temperatures. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing an oxidation catalyst device 1 for purification of exhaust gas includes: a process of baking compounds of two or more metals making up of a composite metal oxide, an organic acid and water together to obtain a catalyst precursor; a process of mixing and grinding the resulting catalyst precursor, water and a binder together to prepare a slurry; a process of applying the slurry to a porous filter substrate 2; and a process of baking the slurry-applied porous filter substrate 2 to form a porous catalyst layer 3 composed of the composite metal oxide supported in the porous filter substrate 2. The slurry contains the catalyst precursor in a distribution range of particle sizes of 0.5-10 μm and has a viscosity of ≤2.0 mPa s. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
