<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method on characterization of bird impact particularly becoming a problem when a gas turbine engine is used for an aircraft, in design of the gas turbine engine. <P>SOLUTION: A rupture piece of a bird or a soft body similar to the bird after colliding with a target plate at a predetermined angle is modeled, and the soft body is expressed by a combination of the rupture piece and slurry. The relative ratio of these depends on severeness of impact and an impact angle. This method is particularly suitable for modeling behavior of the bird impact of a hidden intake part of the gas turbine engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
