<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin type electro-optical display, having both satisfactory reflectance and contrast, and attaining good visibility. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This electro-optical display 1 includes a transmission type display layer 3 having a predetermined display area and presenting at least a transparent color and colorless transparency and a reflection type display layer 5 having a predetermined display area and modulating the reflectance of light, which are superposed one on the other, wherein the total light beam transmissivity in the colorless and transparent state of the transmission type display layer 3 is 60% or more, the lowest value of light reflectance of the reflection type display layer 5 is 7% or less, and the highest value of light reflectance is 40% or more.
