<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an odometer for a vehicle for preventing an erroneous calculation of accumulated running distance even if erroneous data is produced due to an electrical trouble. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The odometer for the vehicle accepts input of odometer data for every unit running distance inputted through a communication line and calculates an accumulated running distance of vehicle on the basis of odometer data. The odometer includes a control means 1 for inputting the odometer data transmitted every time a vehicle travels the unit running distance, performing a period discrimination processing (a step S2) to discriminate whether or not the odometer data is inputted under a longer period than a predetermined reference input period of the odometer data, and calculating the accumulated running distance on the basis of the odometer data discriminated to be inputted under a longer period than the reference inputting period without using the odometer data discriminated as one inputted under the period less than the reference input period in response to the result of the discrimination processing.
