<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To charge liquid detergent and liquid fabric softener reliably. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: detergent charge means 4 for charging detergent into a water tank 2 of the washing machine; a plurality of water supply means 9 for supplying water into the water tank 2 via the detergent charge means 4; water level detecting means 17 for the washing water; and control means 13 for controlling a series of steps of washing, rinsing, and spin-drying, or the like. The detergent charge means 4 includes a liquid detergent charge device 6 for charging the detergent into the water tank 2 by siphon effect. The control means 13 includes a plurality of set water levels for setting the water level of washing water. Thus, when the step is temporarily stopped and restarted in the middle of water supply in the washing step, water supply control is performed regardless of the set water level so that water is supplied for a prescribed time when siphon operation of the liquid detergent charge device 6 finishes, the siphon effect reliably operates regardless of the water level in the water tank, and the detergent in the liquid detergent charge device 6 is supplied to the water tank 2.
