PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polyimide which can be imidized at a high reactivity even in the case of using an aliphatic tetracarboxylic dianhydride, and which is capable of providing a film that has non-coloration properties, low water absorption properties, transparency, and excellent formability (specifically, easiness in forming a film shape and a low process load). SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a polyimide comprises imidizing a polyamic acid obtained by reacting at least (A) one acyl compound selected from an aliphatic tetracarboxylic dianhydride and reactive derivatives thereof with (B) an aromatic diamine in the presence of an alicyclic tertiary monoamine. A method for manufacturing a polyimide film comprises the steps of applying a solution containing the obtained polyimide and an organic solvent to a substrate to form a coating film, and evaporating and removing the organic solvent from the coating film to obtain the film.
