PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved secondary battery current cut-off method efficiently cutting off the current flowing along a large current path of the secondary battery by precisely calculating a cut off time point of the current flowing along the large current path of the secondary battery. SOLUTION: The secondary battery current cut-off method includes a current measuring step of measuring a current value when the current flows along the large current path of the secondary battery, a time measuring step of measuring a current flowing time at a moment when the current flows at the current measuring step, an allowed-time setting step of setting an allowed time for which current flowing is allowed depending on the magnitude of the current value measured at the current measuring step and the current cut-off step of cutting off the large current path when detecting that the current flowing time exceeds the an allowed time.
