PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy storage device capable of efficiently detecting gas discharge from a storage element, with cost hike restrained. SOLUTION: The device includes a plurality of storage elements (11), a valve (60) fitted to each storage element for exhausting gas generated in the storage element, drain pipes (70) connected to the plurality of valves for guiding gas exhausted from each valve toward outside the storage device, and a gas sensor (80) for detecting gas.
