The method involves providing a material to be filtered to an end of a filtering and transferring plane (2) of a filtering device, and transferring the material to another end of the plane. Fine particles of the material fall through the plane, and oversized particles of the material are discharged from the plane to an output side (2b) of the filtering device. Transferring speed of the material at an end of a conveying path is larger than speed at starting point of the conveying path. The conveying path is formed by the plane. An independent claim is also included for a filtering device for filtering decomposable material comprising a filtering and transferring plane provided in a frame.
