摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a feeling of incompatibility to be given to a crew when a vehicle is curve traveling in a traveling control device for vehicle. SOLUTION: This vehicle traveling control device having a follow-up control mechanism which travels following up a preceding vehicle includes: a curve detection means 1 for acquiring road shape information from a navigation device 3, and for detecting a curve in front of an own vehicle; a first calculation means 1 for calculating a target speed (curve traveling time target speed) when the vehicle is curve traveling according to the detected shape of the curve; and a second calculation means 1 for calculating a vehicle speed (follow-up vehicle speed) according to the state with the preceding vehicle. Furthermore, this vehicle traveling control device includes an acceleration suppressing means 1 for, when the curve and the preceding vehicle are detected in front of the own vehicle, and the curve traveling time target vehicle speed is smaller than the follow-up vehicle speed, not setting required acceleration necessary for executing follow-up control with respect to the preceding vehicle as follow-up acceleration by a follow-up control mechanism, but setting acceleration obtained by reducing the required acceleration as the follow-up acceleration.
