<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process especially useful in removing carbon dioxide from air which is to be employed as a feed gas in a process for the cryogenic separation or purification of air. <P>SOLUTION: The concentration of adsorbate on an on-stream bed in the feed gas mixture to an on-stream bed of a cyclical swing adsorption process is monitored, the data are processed to predict the time required to complete the on-stream mode of that bed, and the purge flow rate and/or regeneration mode operating condition of the concurrently off-stream bed is modified in response to changes in this predicted time, whereby regeneration mode of the off-stream bed is completed at the same time as the on-stream mode of the concurrent on-stream bed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
