PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide "a vehicle periphery monitoring apparatus and a setting correcting method of camera installing position and posture information" capable of inexpensively displaying a vehicle periphery image excellent in visibility and having little deviation between viewpoint converted images. SOLUTION: An installing position and posture information setting correcting means 51 corrects the setting of an on-vehicle camera installing position and posture information on the basis of a vehicle periphery image 1 subjected to distortion correction processing which includes an image 59 of a first image photographing object. At this time, for the seam portion, an error of a position of a feature point 60 in the image 59 of the first image photographing object is detected, and the proper installing position and posture information is actually measured by correction for eliminating the detected error, and correction by linear interpolation is enough for a region other than the seam portion in the viewpoint converted image 1.
