<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for a back protecting film of a solar cell, having light resistance and hydrolysis resistance, and capable of keeping the strength over a long time in spite of excellent heat-resistance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The polyester film for a back protecting film of a solar cell is made of a polyester composition composed of a polyester (A) having a tetramethylene terephthalate unit as a main repeating unit and a polyester (B) having an ethylene terephthalate unit as a main repeating unit, wherein the weight ratio of the polyester (A) to the polyester (B) (A:B) is 20-60:80-40, the film has one or more melting points in each of the temperature range of 200-223°C and the temperature range of 230-250°C and the film has a light resistance represented by the yellow index variation (ΔYI) of <10 before and after ultraviolet ray irradiation.
