<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric fan for stabilizing the position of a guard. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the electric fan 1, a motor 5 includes a rotor 17 having a rotary shaft 18 to which a fan 6 is mounted, a front bracket 14 and a rear bracket 15 which are made of metal and are provided to surround the rotor 17. In the guard 7 covering the motor 5 and the fan 6, a guard ornament rim 35 at a rear end of a center guard 30, which protects a rear side of the fan 6 and a front cover 11 covering the outside of the front bracket 14, is fixed to a connection section 68 of the front bracket 14 and the rear bracket 15. In the other words, the guard 7 is fixed to the connection section 68 of the metallic front bracket 14 and rear bracket 15 of the motor 5 which is the heavy load in the electric fan 1 so that the guard 7 is not shaky and the position of the guard 7 is stabilized even when the electric fan 1 is in an operation state.
