<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable electroless satisfactory etching of aluminum foil for a low-voltage capacitor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The aluminum foil for the low voltage capacitor has a composition containing, by mass, 21 to 99 ppm Si, 21 to 99 ppm Fe, 51 to 300 ppm Ni, further containing 1 to 40 ppm, in total, one or two or more kinds among Zn, Ga, Sn, and the balance Al and inevitable impurities. An Ni/Fe content ratio is 4.0 to <5.0, and therefore, the aluminum foil for the low-voltage capacitor which disperses a fine precipitated object functioning as a cathode site without lowering the purity, allows uniform etching form by inexpensive chemical etching, and is high in capacity can be provided. The foil is manufactured preferably by subjecting the foil to homogenization treatment at ≥550°C for ≥4 hours, then subjecting the foil to hot rolling, and cold rolling at a reduction rate ≥98%.
