<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external preparation composition for the skin which contains γ-oryzanol in an oil phase, and of which the discoloration with time is suppressed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The external preparation composition for the skin contains the γ-oryzanol and sodium hydrogen sulfite. Preferably, the content of the sodium hydrogen sulfite is 0.01-1 pts.mass based on 1 pts.mass of the γ-oryzanol in the external preparation composition for the skin.
