The method involves visualizing different predetermined configurations of a vehicle i.e. all-terrain vehicle, for different driving undergrounds by a display (8) of a display device (7). The driving undergrounds assigned to the respective predetermined configurations are illustrated, and one of the visualized configurations is selected with an operating element (1). Display data that are assigned to the selected configuration are produced and visualized, where the driving undergrounds that are assigned to the selected configuration are illustrated. An independent claim is also included for an operating device for adjusting configurations of a vehicle for different driving undergrounds.
