The head-up display has an image formation device for forming an image and an optical system for mapping the image, particularly on a windshield of a vehicle. An adjusting device is provided for adjusting a mapping device such that a level of a formation of the image is modified. A control device is arranged such that through which an automatic rotation of the image formation device is effected depending on adjustment of the mapping device.
