The device has a supply line (4.1) arranged downstream a storage tank (3) e.g. pressure vessel, relative to a flow direction (S) of joining material (2). The joining material from the tank is filled between a spectacle glass blank and a block piece by the supply line. A supply unit (5) is interconnected after the tank and before the supply line relative to the flow direction. The joining material found in the supply unit and/or in the supply line is loaded with pressure increase. A surge tank (5.1) is in flow connection with the storage tank by a flow channel (7.1). An independent claim is also included for a method for blocking a spectacle glass blank on a block piece by a joining material.
