PURPOSE: An information processing apparatus, an information processing method, and a program thereof are provided to extract a featured moving picture from a moving picture recorded according to a data recording format, thereby automatically editing a moving picture. CONSTITUTION: An information processing unit(100) comprises a detecting unit(104), a recording unit(114), a reproduction section setting unit(108), and a data generating unit(112). The detecting unit detects feature information of an AV stream which is photographed. The recording unit records clip information and reproduction section data. The clip information defines attributes including feature information detected by the detecting unit about the AV streams and each of the AV streams according to a data recording format. The reproduction section data sets a reproduction start point and a reproduction end point for each of the AV streams to designate a reproduction section. |
