<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a shape anisotropic ceramic powder made up mainly of a compound having crystal anisotropy without using flux or an acid and without producing a waste liquid containing a chloride, a sulfate, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing the shape anisotropic ceramic powder comprises: forming slurry containing ceramic precursor for obtaining the shape anisotropic ceramic powder into a sheet like shape; firing the resultant sheet like formed body; and pulverizing the resultant sheet like sintered compact, wherein the thickness of the sheet like formed body is ≤15 times of the average value of axis length to be a minimum length in the axes of crystal particle in a bulk like sintered compact having the same composition and the sintering temperature as that of the shape anisotropic ceramic powder. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
