The element (BR) has cross webs (7, 7a, 8, 8a) aligned transverse to a longitudinal direction (L) of a floor element and dividing an area present between upper and lower covering layers into chambers (18). Covering elements (19, 20) are designed as hollow sections and have a longitudinal channel (21) that runs in a longitudinal direction of the section. The channel is connected with one of the chambers by access openings (24) and has a connection opening (26) for supplying a pourable foam e.g. polyurethane foam, where the openings discharge gases contained in the chambers. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a floor element for a vehicle.
