PURPOSE: A method for transmitting a synchronization signal is provided to reduce delay in a handshaking process or a handover process by transmitting a synchronization signal through a synchronous channel having a period shorter than a head of a super fame. CONSTITUTION: In a method for transmitting a synchronization signal, a first synchronization signal is transmitted through a primary synchronization channel. The primary synchronization channel includes a plurality of subcarriers in a frequency domain and also includes at least one OFDM symbol in a time domain. A second synchronization signal is transmitted through a second synchronization channel with the same structure as the first synchronization channel. The first synchronization signal and the second synchronization signals are mapped to a subcarrier of different indexes. The first synchronization signal is transmitted by a cycle of the super frame size including a plurality of the frames. The second synchronization signal is transmitted by a multi-times of frame size.
