LIGHT GUIDE UNIT AND BACK LIGHT ASSEMBLY HAVING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A light guide unit and a backlight assembly having the same are provided to reduce an optical distance by improving luminance and luminance uniformity of a light emitted in a direct backlight assembly used in a flat panel display device. CONSTITUTION: A body part(10) includes a top surface and a bottom surface faced with the top surface. A concave surface is convexly protruded into a first direction lain at right angles to the top surface, and is extended into a second direction lain at right angles to the first direction. An outer surface(31) has two peaks connected to both sides of the concave surface. An inner surface(35) is contacted with a lamp. Flow preventing protrusions(33) for preventing a flow of the lamp are formed in the inner surface. A tunnel lens part(30) is arranged into a third direction lain at right angles to the second direction. A radius of curvature of the concave surface is 2.3~2.7mm.
