Laser device for connecting synthetic plastic workpieces by radiation including a working head, a laser beam focussing device, with a rotating cylindrical lens for focussing the laser beam along a specific axis and which presses the workpieces together in the region of the laser beam impact point. The working head has pendulum suspension for the cylindrical lens.
