PURPOSE: A portable terminal for selecting group keys suitable for a manipulation mode is provided to perform manipulation for input and recognition of signal by selectively recognizing one group by first area and second area. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of keys of groups(40) is arranged on one side of a main body. A frame(50) includes a first area and a second area. The keys are mounted on the main body. One group of key groups is recognized according to the movement of the frame in first area. The other group or groups is not recognized in the second area. Keys are recognized through the first area by sliding the frame.
