The element (B) has an upper liner with a free surface, and a lower liner forming a closure of the element to a lower side of a vehicle. A longitudinal edge of the upper liner opposite to a longitudinal edge of the lower liner is displaced at a longitudinal side of the element such that the former edge is protruded opposite to the latter edge when viewing from above. A cover element (20) is arranged at the side and defines a space in the side. The cover element is connected with the upper liner over an adapter piece, which bypasses clear distance between the latter edge and the cover element. An independent claim is also included for a connector between a base element and a side wall for a vehicle.
