<p>The arrangement has an intermediate pressure gas discharge lamp (10) aligned to an object i.e. print substrate (28), during UV-irradiation of the object. The lamp has a gas discharge chamber (20) and two longitudinal ends with lamp electrodes (22, 22'). A high voltage supply unit (12) applies an alternating current voltage (UL) to the electrodes. An auxiliary ignition electrode (14) extends outside the chamber, over a discharge area between the electrodes. An ignition circuit (16) excites gas discharge that spreads between the electrodes in the chamber, using the ignition electrode.</p> |
