PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to perform the uniform alignment on a large area by performing the formation of a micro groove and the alignment at the same time. CONSTITUTION: The second substrate(200) is adhered with the first substrate and comprises a black matrix, a color filter and a common electrode. First alignment films(110,210) of polyimide system are formed on one of the first and second substrates. Second alignment layers(120a,220a) are formed on at least one of the first and second substrates in which the first alignment films are formed and are made of the material having a function showing the polarization phenomenon. A liquid crystal layer is formed between the first substrate and the second substrate. |
