A system and a method for offering a prepaid presence service in an IMS(IP Multimedia Subsystem) network by preventing traffic overrun are provided to increase satisfaction of a member by smoothly offering a presence service to a prepaid member without delay. A member state information management server(130) stores status information and buddy list information of a member. A billing server(140) stores billing information of the member and bills a charge to the member. A presence server(120) executes a service request of the member by linking with the member state information management server. The presence server offsets a service charge from a prepaid balance by linking with the billing server when the member is the prepaid member, and requests the member state information management server to restore the executed service when the prepaid balance is short. |
