<p>A feet-propelled water vehicle (10) including a buoyant body (14) having a user-supporting platform (60) attached to a rigid frame (78,80) secured to a pair of pontoons (88). A pair of propelling paddles (20,22) is attached to t he rigid frame (78,80). Each propelling paddle (20,22) defines a corresponding effectuating section (24) and a corresponding blade section (26). The supporting platform (60) defines flexible foot contacting regions (62) for transferring the weight shifting action of an intended user to the effectuating sections (24) of a corresponding propelling paddle (20,22). Eac h effectuating section (24) allows the transformation of the force generated b y the foot of the user into a corresponding pivotal movement of the paddle (20,22) relative to the frame (78,80). The blade section (26) attached to th e effectuating section (24) allows transformation of the pivotal movement of t he paddle (20,22) into a vehicle propelling force for propelling the vehicle (2 0) across a body of water (12).</p> |
