FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in designing different radar systems, meant for determining distance to the earth's surface, which use the principle of reflection of radio waves (radio range finders or range-finders). The method involves taking measurements in three steps: at the first step there is rough (preliminary) measurement of the distance to the surface, at the second step there is accurate (final) measurement of the distance to the surface, at the third step, accurate measurement results are verified with rough measurement results. ^ EFFECT: reduced false alarm probability and increased probability of correct determination of distance to the earth's surface. ^ 1 tbl |
