DIGITAL BROADCASTING RECEIVER HAVING IMPROVED PERFORMANCE OF RECIEVED SIGNAL

PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting receiver with improved receiving performance is provided to detect base data in a signal received in a digital broadcasting receiver and use the data for synchronization and equalization, thereby improving digital broadcasting receiving performance in an inferior multipath channel. CONSTITUTION: A digital broadcasting receiver with improved receiving performance includes a tuner(410), a demodulator(420), and an equalizer(430). The tuner receives a signal transmitted from a digital broadcasting transmitter. The demodulator performs VSB demodulation of a receiving signal modulated by a modulator of a transmitter. The equalizer compensates for channel distortion of a demodulated signal based on a multi path of a channel to cancel interference of a modulated signal according to a trellis encoded symbol corresponding to the base data.
