Described is a system and method for evaluating inventions and patents, which allows patents to be qualitatively evaluated in an automatic and easy manner so as to obtain a prediction of the trading possibilities and facilitate the decision making mainly in inventions of academic institutions or research entities associated with technological based companies. The inventive method and system allows the evaluation to be performed in an automated, objective and case by case manner, including a review carried out by experts in order to facilitate the decision making and the design of the strategies for protecting and trading the patent.
