<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure having a large amount of a catalyst supported thereon, having the excellent purifying capacity for CO, HC, NOx or the like and low in pressure loss. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure includes a columnar honeycomb member having a large number of cells provided thereto in parallel in its longitudinal direction so as to be separated by wall parts and having inorganic fibers mainly integrally molded therein. The end part of either of the cells is sealed, and a catalyst is supported on the wall parts in an amount of 100-400 g per liter of the volume of the honeycomb structure. The honeycomb member is characterized in that a pore distribution curve drawn by taking a pore diameter (μm) on the X-axis and a log differential pore volume (mL/g) on the Y-axis in a pore distribution according to a mercury penetration method has peaks in three places of the ranges of 0.005-0.03 μm, 1-15 μm and 15-50 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
