<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear light emitting device having simplified manufacturing processes and reduced manufacturing cost. <P>SOLUTION: The linear light emitting device includes a light source and a light guide rod. The end face of the light guide rod is an incident portion opposite to the light source, and part of the side of the light guide rod is an emission portion which emits the light of the light source to the outside. A groove, which is gradually deeper as being farther from the incident portion along the longitudinal direction of the light guide rod, is continuously formed in the side on the opposite side of the emission portion. With light diffusion treatment applied to the bottom of the groove, the interface of the bottom becomes a reflection portion. In a cross section perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the light guide rod, both sides of the groove are approximately perpendicular to the bottom. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
