<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an NOx sensor keeping a gas selectivity by enhancing the oxygen pumping capacity in an inside first pump electrode and suppressing the decomposition of NOx. <P>SOLUTION: The NOx sensor 1 is equipped with: a first measuring chamber 100 demarcated between a first and second solid electrolyte layers 111 and 112; a first pumping cell 110 which is equipped with an inside first pump electrode 113 fronted on the first measuring chamber to be arranged on the first solid electrolyte layer and the first counter pole electrode 112 becoming the counter pole of the inside first pump electrode; a second measuring chamber 160 communicating with the first measuring chamber; and a second pumping cell 130 equipped with the inside second pump electrode 133 provided in the second measuring chamber and the second counter pole electrode 132 becoming a counter pole of the inside second pump electrode to detect a specific gas component. The inside first pump electrode is a baked electrode containing a second component based on 50 mass% or above of a platinum group element as a metal component and inactive to NOx and characterized in that the area ratio of particles with a long diameter of 3 μm or above is 30% or below when viwed from a cross section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
