PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply apparatus for operation, for outputting power to a surgical instrument. SOLUTION: The power supply apparatus for operation for outputting power to a surgical instrument includes a resonant frequency detection section for detecting a resonant frequency which minimizes the impedance of the surgical instrument, and an abnormality detection section for detecting whether or not a value or variation amount of the resonant frequency per unit time exceeds a predetermined numerical range or a reference variation value. The predetermined numerical range or the reference variation value is set on the basis of the value and variation amount of the resonant frequency corresponding to the temperature change of the surgical instrument.
