PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic latent image developing carrier with very high durability, which will not change in the electrostatic property assigning capability, even after a coating layer has been partially peeled off, or rather worn due to repeated frictional stress within a developing device, and thus can stabilize the toner charged amount for less fogging, and to provide a carrier and a developer, and an image forming method. SOLUTION: The electrostatic latent image developing carrier comprises a coating layer, including at least two or more layers containing a magnesium compound on a core material particle surface. The ratio of magnesium content of the bottom layer constituting the coating layer to the top layer constituting the coating layer is 0.02 or higher and 0.5 or lower. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
