<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent toner from scattering to the outside from a gap between a developing device and a photoreceptor when developer is conveyed to a developing area facing the photoreceptor with a predetermined gap by means of a developing roller, and an electrostatic latent image formed on the photoreceptor is developed. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes the photoreceptor 1 and the developing device in which the developing roller 12 rotatably driven in the position of the opening 11a of a developing housing 11 storing developer D is disposed so as to face the photoreceptor with the predetermined gap between them. In the image forming apparatus, a downstream seal member 16 is disposed downstream in the rotating direction of the developing roller and along the axial direction of the developing roller. Also, end seals 17 covering both ends in the axial direction of the developing roller are mounted in the vicinity of the opening so as to be in contact with the photoreceptor. A downstream projection 17a projects up to a position near the developer conveyance area L of the developing roller in the portion of the end seal 17 further downstream than the developing area in the rotating direction of the developing roller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
