<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optical waveguide having an inclined end surface, by which the inclined end surface is accurately and efficiently formed only at an target inclined end surface forming part. <P>SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the optical waveguide having the inclined end surface includes: a process of causing a router bit having a predetermined inclined surface at the front end part to penetrate in a direction nearly perpendicular to the optical waveguide while cutting the optical waveguide, from above a region at which the inclined end surface of the optical waveguide is to be formed; and a process of moving the penetrated router bit in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the optical waveguide, while maintaining the height of the router bit, to form thereby an inclined end surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
