<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum drying machine capable of reducing a drying time of laundry compared with a conventional one. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A drum 4 is rotated at a rotating speed ω<SB>1</SB>in a drying step, so that the laundry 5 is pushed to the outside of the drum 4 by a centrifugal force, and as the amount of the laundry 5 is closer to a maximum volume specified by a drum drying machine manufacturer, the density of the laundry near a drum rotary shaft 11 where the density of the laundry is usually high, is lower so as to promote the ventilation of drying air to the periphery of the drum rotary shaft 11 and an opposite side of the end face of the drum 4 having air blowing means, thereby reducing the drying time.
